Hire needs to have the proper qualifications to be able to install, balance, repair, and rotate tires. Working on the passenger as well as commercial vehicles is required. Tire technician should be able to properly suggest the best option for a customer when it comes to needing a repair or buying a new tire.
Skills & Qualifications
Tire Inspection- checking for tire pressure, uneven wear, or areas where debris has punctured the tire
Tire Installation & Repair- including patching, removing tires from their rims and replacing them, and balancing tires
Team Collaboration- should be able to successfully collaborate on vehicle repair and maintenance tasks with other technicians or mechanics
Customer Service- should have some experience with customer service best practices
Physical Fitness- this can be a physically demanding role since tire technicians need to remove and replace tires that may be on cars that are elevated during service
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
