Wellvance is committed to improving lives by providing essential mental health services across northern Michigan. We serve individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Serious Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
We are seeking Emergency Services Clinicians to join our dedicated team and provide compassionate, rapid-response care to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to psychiatric crises in community hospital emergency departments and via telepractice.
- Conduct assessments, diagnostic screenings, safety planning, and crisis interventions.
- Collaborate with ED physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, accessible care.
- Provide aftercare follow-up through phone calls and face-to-face consultations.
Qualifications
Education: MSW, MA Counseling, LBSW, or RN (must be qualified to bill T1023 code).
- Experience:
- Specialized training or one year of experience working with individuals with mental illness.
- For Children’s Mental Health Professional: Master’s degree in a mental health-related field and one year of experience with minors and families.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use standard office technology.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and good driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel within the service area.
- Must pass pre-employment background checks (criminal, driving, education, employment).
