Job description:
The CMM Inspector will be required to perform in process inspections on Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and to implement procedures to properly operate CMM’s within Turbo Machined Products. This individual will be required to use the computer systems provided by Turbo Machined Products.
Primary Duties:
· Setup/Shutdown & Run all of the various CMM’s in use.
· Setup required fixtures, correctly load part
· Probe Calibrations
· Clean & PM CMM’s
· Perform Crash recovery on all CMM’s.
· View / Print / Review and provide disposition on acceptance of CMM report.
· Complete visual inspection.
· View & Print Process Sheets (As required)
· Report CMM issues
· Sign off travel tags.
· Interact daily with other shifts for CMM priorities, issues within your shift (Crashes, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
· Safely ascend and descend Step ladders, stairs and ramps.
· Remain in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time up
· to approximately 2 hours.
· Move about to accomplish tasks and move from one work area to another.
· Constantly repeating motions that include use of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
· Perform light physical work that includes the ability to adjust and move objects up to 40 lbs.
· Communicate with others to exchange information.
All positions require eye protection be worn when in manufacturing areas. Hearing protection is recommended when in manufacturing areas.
Desired Experience:
· Previous experience in quality assurance or inspection role preferred
· Proficiency in using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other inspection tools
· Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for interpreting engineering drawings
· Ability to fabricate and modify inspection fixtures as needed
· Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining processes
· Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
· Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
