Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Caregiver to provide personalized support and care to individuals in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, promptly reporting concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences while maintaining proper food safety standards.
- Administer medication accurately according to prescribed care plans, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through memory care strategies and engaging activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry.
- Document care activities meticulously in accordance with healthcare protocols and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe manual handling during transfers or mobility assistance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments supporting individuals with disabilities or age-related conditions.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality standards, and documentation procedures.
- Hands-on experience with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs.
- Strong skills in assisting with ADLs, manual handling, and providing compassionate caregiving for seniors or individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in hospice care or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team committed to quality patient-centered care.
