Position Overview
As a Tow Truck Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and professional towing, roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, and transport services. You will respond to service calls, communicate with customers, secure vehicles properly, and ensure all work is completed according to company policies and industry safety standards.
This position requires excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and the capability to work independently while representing our company in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed, wheel-lift, and other towing equipment.
- Respond promptly to dispatch calls for towing, roadside assistance, vehicle transport, and recovery services.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Perform vehicle recoveries and winch-outs when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment.
- Inspect vehicles for existing damage and document conditions before transport.
- Complete required paperwork, digital reports, and service records accurately.
- Maintain communication with dispatch and customers throughout service calls.
- Provide outstanding customer service during roadside emergencies.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with after-hours and emergency towing services as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous towing, recovery, transport, commercial driving, or roadside assistance experience preferred.
- Ability to operate tow trucks and related equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of vehicle loading, securement, and transport procedures.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles repeatedly.
