Dietary Aide Job Description
Title: Dining Services – Dietary Aide
Reports to: Director of Dining Services and Executive Chef
Job Summary: Performs any combination of duties to facilitate with meals for residents of Bay County Medical Care Facility. Follows standard food sanitation guidelines, health and safety policies and personal hygiene practices; complying with all regulatory requirements. Duties are grouped to specific task assignments, but in all capacities duty assignments require physical effort, sanitation and attention to work details. Perform daily cleaning responsibilities. Assist in other areas as needed.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for setting up of kitchens, and/or dining rooms for meals; assisting with setting up in-room trays and dining room tables for meal service.

Will regularly use kitchen equipment, dishwashers, toasters, dishes, glassware, garbage disposal, large carts, and coffee and juice dispensers.

Will regularly lift, carry, push carts, work in humid areas and wash dishes and utensils.

Gather dishes, trays, utensils, carts, food and condiments needed for meals. Helps to clear tables and wash dishes. Dispose of garbage.

Cleans serving line areas, steam wells and cold wells.

Washes dishes and properly store clean dishes away.

Maintains proper stock levels in kitchens, kitchenettes and dining rooms.

Record temps of refrigeration in dining service areas. Check food storage/refrigeration for any outdated or undated food items.

Record temps of food prepared, hot/cold held or re-heated in appropriate logs.

Properly plate/serve food during meal times following safe food handling practices including wearing hair restraints and clean aprons, frequently washing hands and no bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food.

Is knowledgeable of resident Rights and ensures resident privacy and dignity and helps ensure a safe, secure environment for all residents.

Completes annual In-service training requirements, maintains acceptable attendance and dresses in accordance with the Dress Code Policy.

Attends daily huddle and any department in-service meetings as scheduled.

Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss.

Maintains confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and facility information.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, push, reach, lift, and climb stairs. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Interpersonal skill necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel and residents.
