Support the Parks and Recreation’s department mission of assisting with the management, administration, operation, and proper maintenance of the Activity Center; equipment; budget; policies and procedures.
Ensure public safety and compliance with applicable laws and ordinances, and comply with City and fire codes, policies and procedures.
Assist in hiring, scheduling, and training staff.
Support the Activity Center Manager in meeting deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.
Report on-the-job injuries to the Manager.
Make recommendations to optimize operations.
Recommend goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to the Activity Center Manager.
Prepare and organize clear, concise, and effective publicity and informational materials, reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
Assist in development and implementation of programs, classes, and activities for all ages.
Work closely with co-sponsored groups.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs, and recommend changes to the Activity Center Manager, as needed.
Recruit instructors; oversee class accounting records, including payment of instructors; monitor activity attendance.
Train new staff on reservation system and fee schedules.
Assist Activity Center Manager with vendor contracts and maintenance projects at the facility.
Effectively communicate with a variety of individuals including City officials, other departments, vendors, citizens, membership groups, party rentals, and businesses.
Respond to patron concerns and any issues in a manner that encourages customer satisfaction.
Maintain monthly email updates to members.
Maintain email communication to notify individual group types targeting specific events and classes.
Maintain open communication to encourage feedback and suggestions from patrons.
Ensure content for facility website content is routinely updated.
Convey a positive and professional image by action, communication, and appearance; adhere to the City’s dress code.
Make recommendations to the Activity Center Manager regarding the Activity Center annual budget.
Ability to track revenue and expenses, and ascertain that co-sponsored groups or instructors receive revenue accordingly.
Assist in training and overseeing the reconciliation of daily cash collections, preparation, and timely submission of deposits to Finance Department.
Assist with quarterly State Comptroller Sales Tax Reports and accurately submit it to the Finance Department in a timely manner.
Assist in compiling operating reports.
Maintain class, instructor, participant event recaps.
Review timesheets for accuracy; timely submission to the Finance Department.
Exercise proper judgment when dealing with situations that require immediate action.

Exhibit regular, reliable, and punctual attendance, which is an essential function of this job.
Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned, including room set-ups and clean-ups and facility maintenance.

Maintain notary service for public.
High school graduate or GED, required.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in parks and recreation, preferred.
Four years’ progressively responsible experience in administration of parks and recreation facilities and programs or related field.
Two years of responsible supervisory or managerial experience in the administration of parks or recreational facilities and programs, preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
First aid and CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
State of Texas Notary certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Proof of citizenship and/or eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Maintain valid Texas Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record, as defined by City policy.
Current principles and practices used in the administration of comprehensive park and recreation programs; facility and equipment maintenance.
Progressively responsible experience, including administration of parks or recreation facilities, or programs in related field.
Managerial and budgetary practices and procedures; bookkeeping and payroll procedures.
Local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the operation of a municipal activity center.
Excel, RecTrac, CivicRec, and InCode software.
Provide excellent public service and community relations; be outgoing and enthusiastic in promoting safety and Activity Center programs.
Effectively manage employees and successfully work with others.
Communicate effectively in the English language in person, by telephone, written correspondence, and by e-mail with all levels of management, city officials, vendors, other employees, Activity Center members, and the general public.
Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and make creative recommendations.
Meet multiple deadlines and perform multiple tasks under pressure. Manage several projects at one time.
Proficiently use computers and Microsoft Office applications; learn and proficiently utilize new computer technology applications, including InCode and RecTrac software.

Work is mainly in an indoor setting but may also be outdoors during special events.
