Shift: Full-time position; open availability is necessary, including nights and weekends.
The hiring range for this position is $18.14 to $23.80 per hour. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
The Lead Dietary Aide will provide proper table service to residents and guests in Parsons Healthcare Center and Avalon Assisted Living. Orient new employees and monitor dining service during meal periods, focusing on resident satisfaction as well as cleanliness and adherence to the department’s, VDH and CMS policies, procedures and regulations.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Orient and train new employees on table service and established sanitation guidelines
- Provide proper table service during meals to ensure all customer needs are met in a timely manner
- Follow all dietary instruction and restrictions
- Prepare menu items as ordered for residents and their guests
- Preparing the dining rooms for each meal, i.e., setting and clearing tables
- Follow establishes sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff
- Stock and replenish essential items for the dining areas as needed for each meal
- Attend trainings and in-services to meet state regulations and personal and professional standards and
expectations
- Audit work performance of dining staff to ensure the adherence of all federal, state, and local policies,
procedures, and regulations
- Provide supervisors with customer feedback to ensure appropriate follow-up and customers satisfaction
- Ensure compliance to all federal, state, and local mandated regulations and monitor compliance closely
- Properly wash dishes and put them away in designated areas
- Record temperatures of food items to be served, with calibrated thermometer
- Complete daily cleaning assignments as well as weekly deep cleaning assignments
- Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement
- Assigned to other dining areas as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance
- Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to withstand different temperatures in the kitchen
- Ability to stoop, bend, push and pull frequently throughout shift
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- At least one year of restaurant or long-term care experience
