Salary: 79,000.00 - 95,000.00 Annually plus benefits
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Hematology, Oncology, and Infusion therapy to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing complex treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and infusion procedures. Your expertise will support patient recovery, comfort, and safety within a multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, possess critical care experience, and have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy, biologic agents, and other infusion therapies following established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and review of medical histories to inform individualized care plans.
- Utilize advanced skills such as IV insertion, catheter care, and aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications related to treatments such as Botulinum toxin injections or infusion therapies; respond promptly to emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans aligned with current standards of care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on treatment procedures, medication administration, side effect management, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives by adhering to NCQA standards and infection control protocols.
- Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care, medication management, and community resources for long-term or palliative patients.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training in areas such as trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or hospice & palliative medicine.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification; additional certifications in oncology nursing (OCN) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals undergoing hematology/oncology treatments; experience in infusion therapy highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is advantageous.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center background is preferred.
- Knowledge of advanced nursing procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of physiology, pharmacology related to oncology treatments, and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across diverse populations.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or emergency settings.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus; familiarity with trauma medicine or pediatric nursing is beneficial.
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
