Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and assisting with physical assessments
- Support physicians and healthcare providers during procedures, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support protocols
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and treatment plans
- Conduct patient intake processes, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow
- Assist with medical documentation such as ICD coding, medical terminology clarification, and physiology or anatomy-related notes
- Support medical office management tasks including inventory control of supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization of clinical areas
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a positive experience during each visit
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Proven experience in medical assisting within dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or related specialties; inpatient or emergency medicine experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management software
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently; familiarity with medication administration protocols
- Prior experience working in hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Geriatrics clinics is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach; ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics or surgical units

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
