Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion compounding and aseptic technique procedures in accordance with hospital pharmacy protocols.
- Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy software systems while maintaining strict patient confidentiality and adhering to state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Manage inventory by verifying stock levels, ordering medications, and ensuring proper storage in compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing medication information, answering inquiries, and facilitating medication administration under supervision.
- Prepare and dispense medications for various settings such as LTC (Long-Term Care) facilities, critical care units, and community pharmacies.
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations to ensure correct dosages for all prescriptions and compounding procedures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensation, IV admixture procedures, and drug regulation compliance records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans for patients in acute care or hospital environments.
- Conduct data entry tasks efficiently while ensuring accuracy in patient records and medication logs for hospital or community pharmacy operations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with knowledge of pharmacy software systems.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and medical terminology relevant to hospital or community settings.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation, sterile compounding techniques, and aseptic procedures in compliance with hospital pharmacy standards.
- Familiarity with state healthcare regulations, federal laws governing pharmacy practice, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with patient care focus to support diverse patient populations effectively.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry while maintaining meticulous records of medication dispensation and inventory management.
- Knowledge of pharmacological medical terminology related to acute care and critical care environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced hospital or community pharmacy settings while adhering to safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong organizational skills for managing intake processes, medication administration documentation, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
