Job Overview
Community Housing Initiatives, Inc. (CHI) is Iowa’s largest non-profit housing development group. Since 1993, CHI has worked to create housing solutions that meet community needs and provide comprehensive services for residents. CHI has established itself as one of the most successful developers and managers of affordable rental housing in Iowa and has generated or preserved over 1,500 affordable housing units. CHI is seeking an individual to be part of an innovative team that directly impacts affordable housing initiatives across the state of Iowa.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct recertifications of existing tenants for all LIHTC/HOME/CDBG/HUD/USDA CHI, Inc. owned/managed properties.
2. Schedule and attend any on-site recertification meetings with residents, as applicable.
3. Data entry of recertified resident files into property management software.
4. Maintain a good working relationship with CHI, Inc. residents and on-site management staff to obtain information and signatures, as required.
5. Assist in monitoring set asides.
6. Enter all HAP Contract changes for Resident’s with Section 8 vouchers.
7. Scan files for Compliance Reviews
Other duties and Responsibilities:
1. Filing
2. Correspondence as needed and requested
3. Attend trainings and meetings as required
4. Perform other job-related duties as assigned
5. Answer phones
6. Assist residents/prospects that come into office
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Prefer a candidate with one year of post-high school training or comparable experience.
2. Prefer candidate with property management experience
3. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Computer knowledge and competency, good typing and data entry skills.
5. Strong organizational skills.
6. Detail oriented.
7. Ability to perform moderate heavy physical work, exerting up to 30 pounds of force on occasion, up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 5-10 pounds constantly, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, including duties requiring repetitive motion skills, such as computer and calculator work.
