Production Lead – Cockpit Assembly

Job Summary
Xinquan Kentucky is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Lead – Cockpit Assembly to support our automotive interior manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for leading and performing cockpit assembly operations, including dashboard, console, and electronic component installation, while ensuring all products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment. Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly Operations
- Perform and support cockpit assembly operations, including dashboard, console, bracket installation, and wiring harness connections.
- Utilize pneumatic tools (torque guns) and hand tools to complete assembly tasks according to specifications.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and torque requirements to ensure proper assembly quality.
- Support production flow by maintaining required cycle times and meeting daily production targets.
Quality Assurance
- Perform self-inspections and functional testing of assembled components, including screen activation, button functionality, and electronic checks.
- Ensure all work meets customer requirements and IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Identify, document, and communicate defects.
- Support rework, troubleshooting, and scrap reduction activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and automotive manufacturing safety standards.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and proactively report workplace hazards.
Equipment & Workplace Maintenance
- Perform daily tool inspections and basic equipment checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation following 5S workplace standards.
- Assist with identifying opportunities for process improvement and error prevention.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Support team members in achieving production goals and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Help identify production issues and assist with problem-solving activities.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide feedback and improvement suggestions related to assembly processes, quality, and efficiency.
QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing, technical, or vocational training preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or manufacturing experience required.
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous lead or team support experience is a plus.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to understand and communicate basic workplace instructions in English.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin communication skills preferred due to international manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, production equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including potential day, evening, or night rotations.
Training & Development
Xinquan Kentucky provides comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure employees understand assembly processes, quality expectations, safety procedures, and production requirements. Training typically includes 2–4 weeks of hands-on instruction and mentorship.
