Role Overview
We are looking for a high-output Lead Carpenter/Master Framer who can run jobs, not just work on them. We are open to hiring a Lead Carpenter and an Apprentice together.
This role is for someone who:
- Takes ownership of projects
- Thinks ahead instead of reacting
- Produces clean, high-quality work without constant oversight
You will be an on-site leader, responsible for executing projects from framing through finish, coordinating subs, and ensuring jobs move forward efficiently and profitably.
What You’ll Actually Do
Job Execution
- Lead your team on day-to-day construction on residential projects (additions, garages, remodels). Typical teams consist of a leader and 1-2 helpers or apprentices.
- Handle framing, layout, and finish carpentry at a high level
- Read and interpret plans without hand-holding
- Solve problems in the field without stopping production
Project Ownership
- Keep jobs on schedule (or communicate early when they’re not)
- Maintain clean, organized job sites
- Track materials, tools, and job progress
- Prevent rework through attention to detail
Team Leadership
- Direct laborers and lower-level carpenters
- Set the tone for work ethic and standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors (electric, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
- Communicate clearly with project management
Profit Awareness
- Work efficiently to protect labor margins
- Minimize waste (materials + time)
- Identify when something is going off-track early
What We’re Looking For: Non-Negotiables
- 5+ years of residential carpentry experience
- Can independently run a job site
- Strong framing + layout skills
- Ability to lead people (not just work alone)
- Shows up on time, every time
You’ll Do Well Here If You:
- Take pride in clean, tight work
- Hate redoing things
- Think like an owner, not an employee
- Can move fast without cutting corners
- Communicate problems early instead of hiding them
You Won’t Last Here If You:
- Need constant direction
- Blame others when things go wrong
- Work slow and call it “quality”
- Avoid responsibility
Compensation Structure
We don’t just pay for time—we pay for output and reliability.
- Base Pay: $35–$40/hr
- Performance Bonus: $5/hr hourly wage increase with performance.
- Growth Path in Our Company: Helper/Apprentice → Lead → Site Supervisor → Project Manager
Top performers will:
- Get more responsibility
- Get higher-paying jobs
- Be trusted to run larger projects
Typical Projects
- Residential additions (sunrooms)
- Detached garages (20x20–30x40 range)
- Interior remodels
- Roofing & exterior work (as needed)
- Commercial renovations

Right now, the company is growing—but execution capacity is the bottleneck.
This role exists to:
- Take pressure off ownership
- Increase job throughput
- Improve job quality and profitability
If you’re the right person, you won’t just “have a job”—you’ll become a core operator in the business.
