Role Overview:
The Senior TAB Technician works with a variety of internal and external project teams and collaborates directly with clients, contractors, and design professional to communicate and execute the TAB process. This position serves as a technical leader responsible for independently managing complex TAB projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring system operate in accordance with design intent and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and independently execute TAB services for complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, laboratory, industrial and mission critical facilities.

Make independent technical decisions regarding TAB procedures, system troubleshooting, methodologies, and field modifications.

Perform advance HVAC system diagnostics, airflow and hydronic balancing, controls verification, and operational assessments.

Review mechanical design documents, sequences of operation, and control strategies to verify systems are capable of being balanced and commissioned in accordance with design intent.

Coordinate directly with owners, contractors, engineers, and commissioning providers throughout project execution.

Manage multiple TAB projects simultaneously while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and deliverable quality.

Prepare, review, and finalize TAB reports and supporting project documentation.

Provide field leadership and technical mentorship to junior TAB technicians and support staff.

Support commissioning activities including functional performance testing, issue resolution. And system optimization.

Ensure compliance with NEBB, AABC, TABB, or equivalent standards and procedures.

Participate in client meetings, field coordination meetings, and project closeout activities.

Identify opportunities to improve project execution, field procedures, and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
10+ years of active TAB field experience with demonstrated leadership on complex TAB projects.

Current TAB certification through NEBB, AABC, TABB, or equivalent recognized organization.

Extensive experience independently leading TAB projects from startup through final closeout.

Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, hydronic systems, air distributions systems, controls integration, and system troubleshooting.

Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, sequences of operation and control diagrams.

Experience delivering TAB services for projects ranging from small commercial building to large-scale institution or mission critical facilities.

Ability to manage workflow, priorities, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.

Strong client-facing communication and coordination skills.

Experience mentoring and supervising junior TAB technicians.

Proficient with TAB instrumentation, data collection software, and report generation.

Travel Requirements
This position requires regular travel to project sites to support commissioning activities including site observations, functional performance testing, client meetings and project closeout. Travel is expected to be an approximately 25%-50% commitment depending on project assignments and location. Occasional overnight and multi-day travel may be required.
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $115,000.00 USD
