As a Mechanic II in our Machine Shop, you'll disassemble, rebuild, and test the natural gas engines and compressors that keep energy moving across the globe. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Disassemble, reposition, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex natural gas engine and compressor equipment.
- Use manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools to fit, adjust, and secure precision components.
- Clean, inspect, and repair natural gas engine and compressor components in a shop environment.
- Read detailed prints and use micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators to verify tolerances.
- Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Keep facility equipment and tooling operational, efficient, and safe.
- Identify and report problems or hazardous conditions during equipment operations.
- Complete required training and documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment, and collaborate closely with your team.
WHO YOU ARE
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Able to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications.
- Comfortable with basic math and reading schematics.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and perform other physical tasks required in a shop setting.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- A team player with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to engineering specifications.
PREFERRED
- 2+ years of experience in operations or service center applications.
- Strong knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor equipment.
- Experience setting up and running test operations to engineering specifications.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
