Job Description
Big Joe’s Grille is looking for a dependable, hardworking Dishwasher / Kitchen Utility team member to join our kitchen team.
This is an important position in our restaurant. Our dishwasher helps keep the entire kitchen moving, and we are looking for someone who understands that cleanliness, organization, speed, and reliability matter.
We have an immediate opening and are looking for someone who can become a consistent part of our team — not simply fill a temporary gap.
Responsibilities
- Wash and properly sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Operate and maintain the commercial dishwashing area
- Keep the dish station clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift
- Return clean dishes and equipment to their proper locations
- Remove trash and cardboard as needed
- Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen and dish-area floors
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning and sanitation
- Help maintain clean trash, storage, and back-of-house areas
- Complete assigned nightly closing and cleaning responsibilities
- Assist the kitchen team with basic utility or prep duties when needed
- Follow food-safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate with kitchen staff and management to keep service running efficiently

- Willing to stay until closing duties are properly completed
- Able to follow cleaning procedures and instructions
- Organized and attentive to cleanliness
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of the position
- Able to safely lift and carry typical restaurant supplies, dish racks, pots, and trash
- Someone who takes pride in doing the job correctly — even during a busy shift
Restaurant or commercial dishwashing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Schedule
This position is primarily for evening/night shifts.
Friday and Saturday night availability is important.
Applicants should have dependable transportation and be able to remain at work through completion of their assigned closing responsibilities.
Pay
$14–$16 per hour, depending on experience, availability, and demonstrated ability.
