American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a freestanding ED (FSED) in Austin, TX, requiring TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Work setting is a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) with 32+ beds in Austin, TX
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with rotating weekends (4 shifts per schedule)

Patient ratio is 4:1

No on-call requirements

EMR system is Meditech
-
Typical procedures include lumbar puncture (LP), intubations, TNK, laceration repair, suture removal, and splinting
-
Staffing on night shift includes 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, and 1 PCT

13-week contract

Active TX RN license or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC (must have by start date), ENPC (must have by start date), NIHSS, and CPI (or an approved equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA)

AHA or ARC certifications accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the start date

Minimum 1 year of recent ED experience required; 2+ years preferred

US SSN and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration; Canadian SSNs are not accepted

At least one professional reference required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Navy blue scrubs required; navy blue zip-up sweaters are permitted; pull-over sweatshirts are not acceptable

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
