Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage all aspects of patient check-in and check-out processes with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Explain treatment options clearly, answer patient questions, and assist in scheduling appointments to optimize practice flow
- Verify insurance coverage, explain benefits, and facilitate claims processing in accordance with health regulation policies
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and manage patient documentation efficiently using specialized software such as patient management systems
- Coordinate with dental team members to ensure timely delivery of treatments and follow-up care instructions
- Support medical administrative tasks including data entry, appointment reminders via phone or email, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Educate patients on health insurance policies, payment options, and necessary financial arrangements for treatments
Skills
- Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong knowledge of healthcare procedures and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes
- Proficiency in Dentrix
- Familiarity with health regulation policies related to patient privacy, such as HIPAA compliance
- Experience with medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance processing
- Skilled in using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems for efficient recordkeeping
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person
- Knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and billing procedures to assist patients confidently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to type accurately and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality
