Raceway Car Wash
Pay Range: $20–$26/hour
Training Timeline: 6–12 months before promotion eligibility
Position Summary
The Apprentice Chemical Technician III (Trainee) is an entry-level role designed to build a strong foundation in tunnel chemistry and wash operations. This position focuses on learning the fundamentals of chemical systems, safety standards, titration and water quality testing, and basic troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn proper handling, mixing, and application of tunnel chemicals
- Follow all safety procedures including PPE use and spill response
- Perform titration testing to maintain chemical balance, wash quality, and cost control
- Conduct water quality testing, including hardness, softener, and RO readings
- Assist with identifying and resolving basic chemical or mechanical issues (clogs, leaks, etc.)
- Monitor volumetric targets for flow and dilution rates
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time using the UPKeep system
Performance Expectations
- Maintain zero safety violations and consistent PPE compliance
- Complete 80% or more of assigned work orders on time and accurately
- Demonstrate growing independence in chemical testing and troubleshooting
- Meet all training benchmarks prior to advancement consideration
Company guidelines.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and other Company materials and assets in a professional manner.
- Report directly to the Facility and Maintenance Chemical Manager.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
- A self-motivated and creative problem solver with excellent critical thinking skills who adapts quickly in a dynamic environment.
- 2-year experience working in any mechanical field i.e., automotive, plumbing, electrical.
- Car Wash experience wanted.
- Basic knowledge of most hand and power tools.
- Valid Driver’s License Required with clean MVR.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb to be able to work from ladders.
- Will require proper coordination and motor skills to work with power tools.
Employment Type
