QUALIFICATIONS:

Comprehensive, expert knowledge of public administration, school system finance, and macro-economic principles impacting large public K-12 school districts;

Extensive knowledge and mastery of federal, state, and local revenue streams, grant structures, and statutory budgetary requirements governing public education;

Considerable knowledge of governmental budgeting methods and the operational relationships between the budgeting, accounting, and data processing functions;
-
Extensive working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards and impending updates;

Proven record as an executive leader possessing high emotional intelligence, equity-driven management principles, and the ability to inspire a diverse workforce;
-
Demonstrated ability to direct multiple high-priority, multi-million dollar projects simultaneously under tight deadlines;

Strong executive presence and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate highly technical financial metrics into clear, actionable, and public-facing reports and presentations and prepare Board-ready reports, executive briefings, fiscal analyses, and public-facing materials;

Ability to support the management of financial operations, control expenditures, and related activities;

Ability to effectively present and communicate through a variety of forums, including presentations, community forums and internal meetings; and
-
Ability to develop, implement and maintain highly complex reporting systems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, public administration, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred. A minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience including experience with senior-level financial management in a highly complex public sector, local government, or large K-12 school district required. Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams and large operational budgets required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and provides guidance/oversight to assigned personnel.
