Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager
Reynard Corporation, a leading manufacturer of precision custom optics, has an immediate opening for a hands-on Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager at our South Orange County facility.
This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting facility infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and process support systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience with industrial vacuum systems, roughing pumps, valves, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and facility utilities.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical judgment, emergency response capability, and the ability to direct and assess the work of maintenance personnel and contractors.

Basic Function
The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the facility’s day-to-day operation, including the installation, repair, monitoring, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure and manufacturing support systems. This role requires exposure to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, chemical, HVAC, and vacuum system environments and requires both leadership and direct hands-on technical involvement.
The ideal candidate must be capable of independently diagnosing and resolving facility or equipment failures with urgency and professionalism, including after-hours or weekend emergency response when necessary.
Requirements
- US Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 (Citizen or Permanent Resident)
- Minimum 3 years experience in Physical Vapor Deposition processing.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in written and conversational English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Competent in using power tools, electrical equipment, gauges, multi-meters, and other test equipment
- Strong knowledge of 3-phase power systems and high-voltage electrical safety
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ability to take measurements and apply practical math skills
- Ability to direct and assess the work of maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors
- Maintains composure and professionalism during emergencies and equipment failures
- Capable as an individual contributor
- Comfortable responding after hours or weekends when necessary
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs
- Ability to safely operate forklifts (training provided if necessary)
- Use of required PPE including safety glasses and gloves
- Comfortable working around chemicals, solvents, oils, and industrial equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance or facilities experience
- Experience with multi-stage pumping vacuum systems, including troubleshooting leaks and vacuum integrity
- Experience servicing roughing pumps, vacuum valves, and process support equipment
- Experience with HVAC systems, clean room air handling systems, chillers, and industrial air compressors
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-based automation and controls hardware
- Experience with manufacturing equipment installation, repair, and automation
- Experience in semiconductor, optics, aerospace, precision manufacturing, or related technical industries
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout procedures
- Cryopump rebuilding and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair facility infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and automated systems
- Perform electrical work including troubleshooting automated equipment, building electrical systems, rewiring equipment, and supporting equipment automation projects
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum system troubleshooting and repairs
- Maintain vacuum pumps, roughing pumps, HVAC systems, clean room air handling systems, compressors, plumbing systems, and facility utilities
- Replace belts, pulleys, motors, pumps, valves, and related mechanical components
- Assist in the design, building, installation, and repair of systems and equipment
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, inspect, and reassemble equipment and components
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks accurately and on schedule
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance contractors and outside vendors as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and facility performance
- Advocate and champion Reynard’s ISO9001 Quality Management System and continuous improvement culture
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Experience:
- PLC troubleshooting : 3 years (Preferred)
- Cryopump/High Vacuum Maintenance Repair: 3 years (Required)
- 480 V/ 3-Phase Systems: 3 years (Preferred)
