Duties
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across regional and OTR routes.
- Transport dry freight .
- ensuring securement standards are met.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while adhering to hours-of-service regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight documentation, and delivery records using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries and pickups.
Experience
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions in a commercial setting.
- Prior experience
- Strong route planning skills with knowledge of regional and OTR driving routes.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures including roll-off trucks and various load securement techniques.
- Experience in delivery driver roles involving freight transportation across diverse industries preferred.
