As a mastectomy and compression fitter at Heide's Compression and Mastectomy store, you will help patents be fitted for medical garments such as compression garments and post-mastectomy products (bras/prosthetics worn after breast cancer surgery).
This position includes working hands on with the patient to find the best product for their post-surgical prosthetic and garment need needs, exploring insurance benefits and educating patient on their insurance deductibles and coinsurance amounts. It is an exciting and purposeful position, as every case requires attention to detail and feels quite rewarding when you make someone's day. We often see happy tears and hugs from our clients when our products help restore a sense of confidence and peace after breast surgery.

We advocate and fight for our patient's right to medically necessary supplies and stand by their side through the entire breast cancer journey.
Responsibilities
- Measure, fit, and help patients choose medical products.
- Proactively obtain medical records from clinicians.
- Call and fax providers for additional medical records.
- Regularly call insurance companies to check benefits, authorizations, and claims.
- Compile documentation for prior authorizations/pre determinations
- Follow up with patients, providers, staff and supervisors on authorization and documentation statuses
- Impeccable attention to detail, ability to juggle several projects, strong organizational skills.
- Complete clinical documentation wholly and accurately.
Experience:
- Experience working with insurance companies (checking benefits, prior authorizations, billing, claims, compliance, etc.) is a bonus.
