Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
- Follow food safety management protocols to maintain cleanliness, proper food handling, and sanitation throughout the kitchen
- Assist with meal preparation, including slicing techniques, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean work station by regularly cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment to uphold safety standards in production
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders, manage timing, and ensure smooth kitchen operations
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating strong food industry knowledge
- Practical dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is valued
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, knife handling, and slicing methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production environments and safe food handling practices
- Experience with catering or large-scale meal service is advantageous
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to established meal preparation procedures
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
