Dubin Law, PLLC, a plaintiff-side civil litigation firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and technologically capable Legal Assistant / Litigation Case Coordinator to support a busy civil litigation practice.
The firm represents individuals, property owners, and classes of people in cases involving sewer backups, basement flooding, environmental nuisance, property damage, governmental liability, and other complex civil matters.
This is a remote position, but preference will be given to candidates located in or near Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, or Southeast Michigan. Occasional in-person meetings, training, court-related tasks, or document handling may be needed.
This position is ideal for someone with prior legal office experience, is comfortable with technology and Excel, communicates well with clients, and seeks a meaningful, long-term role in a small, active litigation firm.
Compensation
$25–$32/hour, depending on experience.
For a full-time schedule, this equates to approximately $52,000–$66,500 annually.
The firm is willing to offer competitive compensation for a candidate with strong experience in legal assistant, litigation support, client communication, Excel, court filing, and remote work.
Why This Position May Be a Good Fit
This is not a narrow clerical role. The person hired will work closely with the firm’s attorneys and play an important role in managing litigation matters, client communications, deadlines, filings, documents, and day-to-day case organization.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with clients, prospective clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and other attorneys;
- Assisting with client intake, screening, follow-up, and document collection;
- Preparing and sending client correspondence, routine updates, notices, and follow-up communications;
- Maintaining client lists, case trackers, deadline charts, and Excel spreadsheets;
- Organizing pleadings, discovery, records, photographs, videos, exhibits, and other case materials;
- Assisting with court filings, electronic filing, service of documents, and litigation deadlines;
- Scheduling calls, meetings, depositions, hearings, and attorney deadlines;
- Tracking client responses, missing documents, upcoming deadlines, and follow-up tasks;
- Managing digital files in cloud-based systems;
- Assisting attorneys with pleadings, discovery, correspondence, exhibits, and other litigation support tasks;
- Helping improve office systems, workflows, templates, and case-management procedures.
Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have:
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, litigation assistant, paralegal, law office administrator, or similar legal support role;
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF tools, and cloud-based document systems;
- Comfort using Excel to sort, filter, update, and maintain spreadsheets;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and active matters;
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment;
- Professional judgment when communicating with clients, attorneys, courts, and opposing counsel;
- Reliability, discretion, confidentiality, and follow-through;
- Willingness to learn new systems and adapt as the firm’s needs evolve.
Preferred Qualifications
The following are preferred but not required:
- Experience with Michigan civil litigation;
- Experience with court e-filing systems;
- Experience supporting plaintiff-side litigation;
- Experience with client intake or high-volume client communication;
- Experience with litigation deadlines, pleadings, discovery, and document production;
- Experience using cloud-based document systems, electronic signatures, and PDF management tools;
- Paralegal training, certification, or equivalent experience.

Full-time preferred. Strong part-time candidates may be considered depending on experience and availability.
