We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class A Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. As a Class A Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo, as well as the reputation of our company.
We work primarily with local airfreight pick ups. We use pneumatic rollerbed systems and various systems on the job. We're a tech-forward company with a huge focus on individual growth. All staff are trained on new systems and fairly reimbursed for their time on the clock, whether that's for training or work.
Due to the nature of our business, our hours are irregular at best. However, we have a family-first mindset and can be flexible with each individual's personal circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of trucks including dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers for delivery purposes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently while ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow designated routes for deliveries, ensuring timely arrival at each destination.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to commercial driving.
- Build relationships with terminal staff at airports to ensure faster retrieval of cargo.
- Use technology to communicate effectively to company team members and clients, as well as update freight status.
Skills
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with minimum 2 years of experience.
- Proficient in understanding route driving logistics.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
