Shop Mechanic
Job Description:
The Shop Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company rig and drilling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role works primarily in a shop environment with some travel required as needed and supports rig fleet reliability through preventative maintenance and timely repairs
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on company rig equipment
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
· Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
· Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
· Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
· Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and materials
· Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors
· Assist with equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs as required
· Work schedule Monday – Friday. Depending on work load rotate weekends off
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Previous experience as a mechanic or maintenance technician preferred
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
· Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Valid driver’s license required
· Bilingual preferred
· Safety sensitive position. Must pass hair follicle drug screen
· Must have reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
· Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, grease, and equipment
Work Environment:
· Shop-based position with occasional outdoor work
· Full-time schedule; overtime may be required based on workload
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
