Overview
Delivery drivers make local-area deliveries and pick-ups to/from customers and suppliers. Drivers complete job duties by preparing, loading, unloading, operating and cleaning a truck; maintaining records; and helping to develop sales through customer relations. When not driving, you will be helping our warehouse staff pull orders, organize product, and maintain a clean work environment in the warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to load and unload a delivery truck from ground level or platform in a variety of warehouse and construction worksite situations.
- Ability to read and do math to correctly access warehouse materials for order picking, properly deliver orders, and correctly complete all paperwork for deliveries and pick-ups.
- Must have a minimum of two years experience driving a 16 to 26ft flatbed or box truck vehicle.
- Must know how to drive a forklift
- Must know how to operate a pallet jack
- Must own a smart phone for business related applications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation preferred
- Strong knowledge of route driving, navigation tools, and safe lifting practices for heavy items
- Basic math skills for pricing calculations, inventory management, and transaction processing
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving or standing
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, safety protocols, and organizational skills necessary for efficient route management
Essential Job Functions:
- Legally operate a motor vehicle and maintain a driving record that meets company standards.
- Load all order fulfillment materials onto truck for delivery and unload at delivery.
- Deliver/pick up merchandise to/from customers and suppliers promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
- Perform daily inspection and maintenance on company vehicle.
- Communicate any vehicle mechanical problems to direct supervisor.
