Summary
The Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach at Penn's Grove Middle School will support the head coach in developing a competitive and positive team environment for student-athletes. This role involves assisting with practice planning, skill development, and game strategy, while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the game of lacrosse. The assistant coach will work closely with players to enhance their skills and understanding of the sport, fostering personal growth and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in organizing and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Help develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
- Provide individual and group instruction to players to improve their skills and performance.
- Support the head coach in preparing for games, including scouting opponents and developing game plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Assist in the management of team equipment and supplies.
- Attend all games and practices, providing guidance and support to players.
- Encourage academic achievement and personal development among student-athletes.
- Help organize team events, fundraising activities, and community service initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching lacrosse is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the rules and strategies of lacrosse.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Availability to attend practices, games, and team events.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Background check clearance as per school district policies.
