Job Description
Position Summary:
Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; Staging product; placing orders in delivery area.
- Ensure safe passage at all warehouse entries
- Tracking and reporting of all damaged inventory.
- Perform cycle count inventory
- Maintain all warehouse facilities and equipment of unmanned warehouses, sweeping and trash removal.
- Clean company vehicles as needed
- Responsible for making accurate cuts on carpet cutting machine.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Proper packing, labeling, and tagging of the inventory in the warehouse.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures; rules and safety regulations as set by the company.
- Deliver materials, products and supplies to stores, vendors, customer homes, and job sites.
- Pick up and move materials, products and supplies between locations and from vendors as needed.
- Load and unload materials, products, and supplies.
- Check in and pull materials, products, and supplies.
- Label and tag inventory in warehouses.
- Locate placement of inventory in warehouses.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections of transfer vehicle for safety and cleanliness and communicate vehicle maintenance items.
- Participate in educational and safety opportunities as needed to refresh, update, and enhance skills and knowledge that pertain to job responsibilities, company operations, customer interests and industry outlook. This may include workshops, webinars, learning sessions, reading materials, classroom study, etc.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested and required.
Education, Certification, and/or Training Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of using and operating warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Forklift Certified preferred but not required.
- Carpeting or flooring experience preferred but not required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean, current 3-year driving abstract.
Other Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to be detail orientated, organized, thorough and proficient.
- Attention to accuracy, detail, and completeness.
- Ability to be organized.
Working Environment:
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 50-100 pounds.
- Required to stand on concrete surface.
