Position Summary
The Logistics Merchandiser plays a critical role in coordinating transportation activities between customers, carriers, and the merchandising team. This position is responsible for dispatching loads, managing carrier relationships, evaluating route profitability, and ensuring efficient, cost-effective freight movement while maintaining high service standards for customers.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with the sales team to align customer schedules and transportation needs

Dispatch loads to carriers in accordance with customer timelines

Serve as a primary contact for customers and carriers regarding logistics questions

Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to optimize performance and capacity

Negotiate freight rates to minimize costs for clients

Evaluate route profitability and identify improvements opportunities

Support efficient, timely, and accurate execution of freight movement
Qualifications & Skills

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate route profitability and freight costs

Negotiation skills and confidence working with carriers and vendors

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (preferred)

Understanding of transportation, trucking, or logistics operations (preferred, but not required)
