We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Front Office Medical Receptionist to join our busy pediatric practice. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and families, provides excellent customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for families.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, parents, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary patient information.
- Collect copays, balances, and payments at check-in/check-out.
- Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, and medical forms as assigned.
- Manage incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and patient portal messages.
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff.
- Assist families with questions regarding appointments, billing, and office policies.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 year of customer service, receptionist, or medical office experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Proficiency with computers, phone systems, and basic office software.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Previous pediatric office experience.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and referral processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language) a plus.
