Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility. This position is responsible for overseeing housekeeping staff, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are performed to the highest standards, and fostering a positive environment for both guests and employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and housekeeping management, with experience in various cleaning techniques and practices.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned efficiently and effectively.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to uphold quality standards in cleaning and customer service.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Address guest inquiries or complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Implement safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations within the hotel or facility.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in housekeeping management or supervisory roles within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care, industrial cleaning, and custodial practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and management.
- Previous hotel experience is highly desirable; janitorial experience is also beneficial.
