Job Title: Mechanical Flushing Superintendent
Location: Project-Based / Travel Required
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Flushing Superintendent to lead and oversee all aspects of mechanical system flushing, cleaning, and commissioning support activities on industrial and commercial projects. This role is responsible for managing field operations, ensuring quality and compliance, coordinating crews and equipment, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise mechanical flushing operations, including open and closed-loop systems
- Plan and execute system flushing, chemical cleaning, and filtration processes
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and equipment logistics
- Interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and system flow diagrams
- Develop and implement flushing plans, procedures, and schedules
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols
- Monitor flow rates, pressures, cleanliness levels, and filtration performance
- Interface with clients, engineers, and commissioning teams
- Maintain daily reports, progress tracking, and documentation
- Troubleshoot system issues and adjust flushing strategies as needed
- Oversee post-flush preservation and system turnover
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical flushing, commissioning, or industrial piping systems
- Strong knowledge of:
- Hydronic systems
- Chilled water / hot water loops
- High-purity and process piping systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience managing field crews and multiple work fronts
- Strong understanding of pumps, filtration systems, and flow dynamics
- OSHA 30 (preferred)
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with RO filtration systems and high-purity flushing
- Background in data centers, pharmaceuticals, or industrial facilities
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and turnover documentation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
