Job Overview:
SUNORO SUPPLY CHAIN CO. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Load Planning Specialist to optimize freight loading plans, transportation capacity, and shipment schedules. The specialist will coordinate with transportation, warehouse, dispatch, and operations teams to ensure freight is loaded efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize load plans based on shipment volume, weight, dimensions, delivery schedules, and equipment capacity.
- Coordinate daily freight movements with dispatchers, carriers, warehouse teams, and transportation planners.
- Maximize trailer and vehicle utilization while minimizing empty space and transportation costs.
- Review shipment requirements and determine the most efficient loading sequence and configuration.
- Monitor planned loads and make adjustments when shipment volumes, schedules, or transportation capacity change.
- Ensure loads comply with weight restrictions, routing requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
- Track shipment status and communicate delays, changes, or capacity issues to relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate load planning records, transportation documentation, and system data.
- Use transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and spreadsheet tools to support planning activities.
- Analyze transportation and load performance data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations teams to resolve loading, scheduling, and capacity issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to freight utilization, routing, and transportation costs.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in load planning, transportation planning, logistics, dispatch, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of freight transportation and shipment planning processes.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and logistics/TMS software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
Pay: $21.80 - $25.50 per hour
