Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming freshly poured concrete into smooth, durable surfaces that meet precise specifications. Your expertise will help bring construction projects to life, ensuring high-quality finishes that stand the test of time. Duties
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and finishing of concrete according to project specifications.
- Prepare forms and molds by constructing formwork with wood or metal framing, ensuring proper alignment and stability for concrete pouring.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools efficiently to facilitate the pouring and finishing process.
- Install rebar reinforcement and metal studs as needed to strengthen concrete structures in compliance with safety regulations and project plans.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely while adhering to construction workplace safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to execute tasks such as concrete pouring, rebar installation, masonry work, and surface finishing for various projects including commercial buildings, renovations, roofing, stucco application, and restoration efforts.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to concrete mixers, power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Proven experience in construction estimating and interpreting construction plans and blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in concrete forming, formwork construction, concrete cutting, pouring, finishing, and caulking techniques.
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprint specifications effectively.
- Experience with masonry work such as tile laying, flooring installation, plastering, roofing preparation, metal stud framing, and stucco application.
- Familiarity with renovation projects involving restoration work or structural modifications requiring precise craftsmanship.
- Competence in operating power tools such as saws, drills, grinders along with heavy lifting equipment when necessary.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions for construction plans or schematics.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting materials or equipment between sites when required.
