REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagements
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Engagements Coordinator serves as a trusted operational partner to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagements, ensuring the efficient execution of Space Foundation's strategic engagement initiatives and government relations coordination in Washington, DC. This role combines team support, cross-functional project coordination, overseeing executive communications and scheduling, and supporting relationships with government, industry, and nonprofit stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with exceptional communication and coordination skills. This individual will oversee day-to-day operations for the Strategic Engagements team, track priorities and deliverables, coordinate meetings and executive briefings, assist with budgeting and reporting, and identify opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness. Success in this role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting Space Foundation's mission to advance the global space ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Provide operational support to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagements.Coordinate strategic initiatives, meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements.

Manage team priorities, project timelines, and cross-functional deliverables.

Prepare executive briefings, presentations, reports, and correspondence.

Support budget tracking, contracts, travel, and administrative operations.

Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring timely follow-up on action items.

Develop and improve operational processes that enhance team effectiveness and organizational impact.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICIATIONS:

3 -5 years of administrative support experience required. Capitol Hill experience preferred.

A bachelor's degree is required in a political science, communications, or aerospace field of study.

Strong detail orientation with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Proficiency in current office technology, e.g. MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Individuals in this position will generally work indoors and will have a workspace designated solely for them. Necessary office furnishings, equipment and supplies will be provided by the Foundation. While performing this job's duties, the employee may periodically be required to work outdoors and would be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee may periodically be required to work in an offsite environment or at special events, and from time-to-time may be asked to travel on Foundation business, at the Foundation’s expense. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
JOB STATUS:

FLSA Classification: This position is non-exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, an individual in this position is eligible to receive overtime pay.

Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week.

Work Location: This position’s primary work site is the Washington, DC office located in Arlington, VA. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is eligible for alternative worksite arrangements, such as working from home or telecommuting, on a consistent or recurring basis. Space Foundation’s current hybrid work policy is two work from home days per week.
