The Dental Receptionist will perform a combination of clerical and reception tasks. Duties involve direct patient contact and functioning with fellow office and dental personnel. The dental receptionist will also work under the supervision of the Dental Manager and will interact with patients, dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and other departments within Wisconsin Health Fund.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Under general supervision, the dental receptionists primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients at the front desk, registering them for appointments, verifying current address and phone numbers and announcing their arrival
- Assembling new patient charts and label accordingly
- Cancel, Schedule and reschedule dental appointments as needed
- Check insurance eligibility of patients
- Maintain computer skills as to be able to perform functions using the Dentrix software (i.e. appointments, entering patient information, printing patient letters and creating treatment plans))
- Maintain skills to operate all office equipment necessary for the completion of tasks assigned
- Handle correspondence between referring offices and check office email
- Answer telephone and forward calls to appropriate staff
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures such as unlocking front doors, unlocking file cabinets, turning on front desk computers, suction system, copier, etc. Balance cash register and payment log sheet
- Re-Credential Dentists as required by insurance companies
- Attend and participate in required meetings, training and educational programs
- Performs other related works as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience & Education Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Dental assisting experience is a plus
