Overview
The Food Delivery Van Driver at The Medical Kitchen (TMK) is responsible for the safe, timely, and courteous delivery of medically tailored meals to clients. Drivers represent TMK’s values in the field, ensuring food safety standards, client satisfaction, and compliance with all policies, traffic laws, and delivery protocols. Your enthusiasm for customer service, combined with your ability to handle physical tasks and operate various equipment, will ensure smooth deliveries and efficient warehouse flow. Responsibilities
- Delivery & Customer Service
- Deliver meals on assigned routes with accuracy, professionalism, and efficiency.
Safety & Vehicle Use
- Comply with all traffic regulations and company safety standards.
- No texting or making outbound calls while driving unless handsfree.
- Practice safe driving at all times — vehicles are monitored with AI and dashcams.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; report maintenance needs.
- No smoking, vaping, drugs, or alcohol within 8 hours before and during shifts.
- No private use of company vehicles.
Food Quality & Handling
- Handle food with care and maintain required temperatures.
- Understand and prevent temperature-related food risks (e.g., bacterial growth).
Accurately use temperature monitoring tools and report concerns.
- Promote TMK’s identity through courteous interactions and positive representation.
- Cencal partner requirement: Engage clients with respect and helpfulness.
- Call the client and confirm the return time.
- If return is within 90 min: leave meals in an ice bag with ice and take a picture.
- If return is longer than 90 min: cancel delivery and notify dispatch.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a strong focus on route driving and customer service excellence
- Warehouse experience including load & unload procedures, inventory management, and equipment operation such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Valid driver’s license with experience driving cargo van or similar vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members professionally
- Knowledge of safety standards related to driving, warehouse operations, and equipment handling
- Experience operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks is preferred but not mandatory; certification is advantageous
