POSITION OVERVIEW
The Program Trainer will play a critical role in onboarding, training, coaching, and developing Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure exceptional care, compliance, and staff success across programs throughout Berks County.
This position is ideal for a passionate trainer, mentor, or human services professional who enjoys helping staff grow while supporting meaningful outcomes for individuals and families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
- Lead onboarding, orientation, and required compliance training
- Coach and mentor staff to support long-term success and retention
- Conduct refresher trainings and professional development initiatives
- Ensure training compliance with agency, licensing, and regulatory standards
- Support staff competency evaluations and documentation
- Travel throughout Berks County programs to support training needs
- Collaborate with operational leadership to strengthen workforce performance and care quality
- Promote person-centered care, compassion, professionalism, and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior training, coaching, staff development, or teaching experience required
- Experience in IDD, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Healthcare, or Nonprofit settings strongly preferred
- Experience working with or training Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) highly preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
