Join our dedicated healthcare team as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) working the 3PM to 11PM shift! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents in a long-term care or assisted living setting. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper procedures are followed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and maintaining a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs
- Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the facility
- Assist with transfers and mobility using patient transfer methods appropriate for each resident's condition and safety requirements
Requirements
- Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification or equivalent licensure
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospitals is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (CPR) certification required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate documentation
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual handling tasks following safe lifting practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
