Job Title: Licensed Assistant Property Manager
Reports To: Property Manager
About Us
We are a fast-growing, well-funded property management firm specializing in single-family homes and serving the Central Valley area. With committed capital for acquisitions and expansion, we are positioned for major growth — and we’re looking for a licensed Assistant Property Manager to join our team.
Position Summary
The Assistant Property Manager is the frontline connection between property owners, tenants and the support team. This role is highly property owner and tenant-facing, with responsibilities focused on communication, service, and ensuring residents have a positive rental experience. The Assistant Property Manager will handle day-to-day tenant and property owner inquiries, maintenance coordination, leasing support, and move-in/move-out interactions. This role supports the Property Manager and offers an excellent pathway to a full Property Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for property owners and tenants, responding promptly to questions, concerns, and requests.
- Coordinate maintenance requests by scheduling vendors and following up with tenants to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist tenants with understanding lease terms, community rules, and compliance requirements.
- Support leasing activities by showing units, answering applicant questions, and helping guide prospective tenants through the application process.
- Conduct tenant-facing property inspections (move-in, move-out, and periodic) and document conditions.
- Issue and explain notices (renewals, reminders, compliance notices) in accordance with California law.
- Assist with rent collection efforts, including reminders and payment coordination.
- Communicate regularly with tenants to build positive relationships and ensure resident retention.
- Escalate complex tenant issues to the Property Manager while managing day-to-day tenant interactions independently.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in property management, leasing, customer service, or hospitality required.
- Active California Real Estate License required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to listen actively and resolve tenant concerns professionally.
- Customer service mindset with a balance of empathy and firmness when enforcing lease terms.
- Working knowledge of California landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tenant-facing responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Appfolio property management software and Google Workspace.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for site visits and inspections).
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation package.
- Path for promotion into a Property Manager role with strong performance.
- Daily interaction with property owners and tenants, with exposure to all aspects of property management.
- Training and mentorship from experienced property managers.
- Benefits package health, PTO, 401(k), etc.
If you're a professional with a track record of success and want to be part of a well-funded company that's transforming property management, we want to hear from you.
