Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, offering assistance and answering questions to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, organizing products, and conducting stock counts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person
- Support sales initiatives through suggestive selling and promoting ongoing promotions or new products
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery store environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures essential for daily operations
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or managing tasks independently
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate loads throughout shifts in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising standards, and customer service best practices
