Animation Instructor – Creative Arts Program
We’re seeking a creative, patient Animation Instructor to teach hands-on classes in a supportive, community-based setting. Most of our students are neurodiverse, so we’re looking for someone who can adapt instruction, communicate clearly, and foster an inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging animation classes for small groups (beginner to intermediate)
- Teach foundational animation skills
- Provide step-by-step instruction, demonstrations, and individual support
- Adapt lessons to different learning styles and support needs
- Encourage a positive, respectful, and safe studio environment
- Track attendance and communicate any class notes or needs to staff
- Help with basic setup/cleanup of equipment and workspace
Qualifications
We are looking for instructors who are:
- Experience teaching or mentoring students in digital arts (classroom or informal)
- Working knowledge of animation software, such as Adobe Animate, ToonSquid, and Pencil 2D
- Comfortable teaching basic computer skills alongside creative concepts
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive teaching style
- Ability to work effectively with neurodiverse learners; experience in inclusive settings is a plus
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow studio policies and schedules
Preferred
- Background in education, art, design, animation, or related field
- Experience with tablets/drawing tablets and digital illustration workflows
