Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols, including IV infusions and medication management.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as cardiology (including catheterization), ophthalmology (including Botulinum toxin treatments), geriatrics (memory care and long-term care), or emergency medicine based on your experience.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
- Manage acute pain, trauma cases (Level I & II trauma center experience), ICU scenarios, or neonatal resuscitation procedures with confidence and precision.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, health coaching strategies, and post-acute care options to support ongoing recovery and wellness.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license in the relevant state or jurisdiction with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU/CCU units, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Epic for accurate documentation and medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding standards (ICD-9 & ICD-10).
- Experience performing sterile procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving infectious disease care, trauma medicine, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health needs.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the capacity to triage effectively in urgent situations while maintaining compassionate patient interactions.
