Job Overview
We're looking for candidates with open availability to cover upcoming available shifts due to back-to-school employees resuming classes. Join our team as a Smoothie Maker and Cashier, where you’ll be the friendly face and skilled hands behind delicious, refreshing smoothies and exceptional customer service. In this dynamic role, you’ll craft nutritious beverages, operate efficient POS (Point of Sale) systems, and ensure every guest has a memorable experience. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a lively atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food and customer service skills while contributing to a fun and fast-paced environment. Base hourly pay plus tips (an average +$2.50 extra per hour).
Duties
- Prepare a variety of smoothies and food items like flatbreads, wraps, and acai bowls
- Operate the PAR/Brink POS system to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including food prep stations, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, process payments, give correct change, and balance cash drawers at shift end
- Restock ingredients and supplies regularly to ensure smooth operation during busy hours
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all beverage preparations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or café environments, with barista or beverage preparation experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems for efficient sales processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction balancing
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours and ensure timely service
Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
