Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients. You will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and educate patients on proper hygiene practices. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control is essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Assess and record vital signs to monitor patient health.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Assist in the management of patient records using Open Dental software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proficient in vital signs monitoring and patient care techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures within a dental clinic setting.
- Experience with Open Dental software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Understanding of medical coding as it relates to dental procedures is a plus.
- Previous experience in general dentistry is highly desirable.
