Aftercare Coordinator
NFA seeks an Aftercare Coordinator to run its Aftercare Program (hours 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm) for students age 3 years old through grade 6. The Aftercare Coordinator is responsible for coordinating programming for the Aftercare Program and supervises all aftercare staff. Candidates must be passionate, skillful, and eager to invest his/her talents in our program. They must establish a supportive and engaging environment for students, work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular communication with the Principal to address concerns regarding student behavior, parent complaints, staffing challenges, or substitute teacher needs.
- Prepare the aftercare space for the school year and ensure it remains organized, welcoming, and well-maintained.
- Purchase, order, and distribute necessary supplies and snacks to support program activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, addressing inquiries and fostering positive relationships.
- Establish and manage processes for students’ daily arrival and transfer from homerooms or classes, ensuring smooth and safe transitions at both campuses.
- Develop and implement a daily schedule of activities that cater to students' academic, social, and developmental needs, promoting a calm, safe, and nurturing environment.
- Work closely with the Business Office on attendance tracking and fee collection.
- Coordinate with the Nurse to ensure awareness of student medical needs, including allergies and alerts.
- Liaise with receptionists, maintenance staff, and other departments to address program requirements.
- Supervise aftercare staff, provide guidance, and arrange substitutes as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive; must maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
