Utilities Operator
Perform manual actions needed to excavate lines or devices and restores areas to previous condition.
Assists in evaluating, maintaining, and repairing existing water lines and sewer system components.
Assists in installing new system components as required.
Coordinates efforts with on-site consultants to accomplish larger scope Utility projects.
This position requires a CDL license and the ability to maintain a CDL license.
• Knowledge of construction methods and principals. • Effective communicator with engineers, contractors and developers. • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations in water and sewer treatment and/or transportation. • Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with the general public, vendors, and other city employees. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Two (2) years of relevant work experience in a municipal utility department installing and repairing water/sewer lines, manholes, and pump stations or construction setting.
